Cat Clinic of Destin Veterinary Staff

Our doctors and veterinary staff are dedicated and passionate animal lovers who place your pet’s health and well-being above anything else!

dr. flynn
Dorothy V. Flynn, DVM

Dr. Flynn loves her job! She was thrilled to start her first practice in Destin in April of 2000. She decided on a feline-only veterinary hospital because she thought the idea of giving cats their own facility made so much sense. She loves cats AND dogs, but knew that her calling was in providing a unique experience for cats and their owners.

She graduated from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. Dr. Flynn attends at least two continuing education conferences annually, concentrating solely on the current advances in feline veterinary medicine. She gives back to her community by working closely with Feline Friends of Destin and other rescue groups.

Dr. Flynn is a proud sponsor of Compassion International. She has supported twin boys in Ethiopia since 2004, and a little girl in Nicaragua since 2013. In her free time, she enjoys long walks along our beautiful coastline, attending Bible Study, but loves to spend time with her grandsons most of all!

Dr. flaherty
Brooklyn Flaherty, DVM, MPH

I’m originally from Kentucky, completing my undergraduate degree at University of Kentucky in Animal Science. I’m a 2020 DVM graduate of Auburn University, with a special interest in Feline Medicine (of which I founded and ran the student chapter of AAFP during my time there). I also completed my Masters of Public Health at UAB this past Spring (2021). My career passions include dentistry, ultrasound, and all things preventative care. I share my home with my three very affectionate and vocal cats: Sofie, Mira, and Hallow; my adorable son Barron and my loving husband Justin. My hobbies include hiking, painting, writing, and spending time with close family and friends.

Kay Pichardo, Vet Technician
Kay is a true cat lover. She is your cat’s greatest advocate while here at The Cat Clinic of Destin. Her nursing skills are excellent and her genuine compassion for each kitty is evident to all. Kay lives in Niceville with her husband and has one son- but we all say she’s married to her 15 cats, 4 koi fish, and 2 birds! Before coming to the Cat Clinic in 2014, she volunteered with animal rescue groups for 4 years, working with adoptions and animal welfare. In her free time, she enjoys her garden, volunteers at her church and with her favorite cat rescue group, Feline Friends of Destin.
Brook McLean, Vet Technician
Brook has been a veterinary technician with the Cat Clinic of Destin since 2019. She lives in Destin with her daughter, her black lab Teak, her Morkie Vaya, and her kitty named Meows. Brook spends most of her free time fishing the world-famous waters of Destin.
