Dorothy V. Flynn, DVM
Dr. Flynn loves her job! She was thrilled to start her first practice in Destin in April of 2000. She decided on a feline-only veterinary hospital because she thought the idea of giving cats their own facility made so much sense. She loves cats AND dogs, but knew that her calling was in providing a unique experience for cats and their owners.
She graduated from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. Dr. Flynn attends at least two continuing education conferences annually, concentrating solely on the current advances in feline veterinary medicine. She gives back to her community by working closely with Feline Friends of Destin and other rescue groups.
Dr. Flynn is a proud sponsor of Compassion International. She has supported twin boys in Ethiopia since 2004, and a little girl in Nicaragua since 2013. In her free time, she enjoys long walks along our beautiful coastline, attending Bible Study, but loves to spend time with her grandsons most of all!
Brooklyn Flaherty, DVM, MPH
Dr. Flaherty grew up in Crab Orchard, Kentucky and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky in Animal Science. She is a 2020 graduate of Auburn University, with a special interest in feline medicine (where she served as the founder of Auburn’s student chapter of AAFP). She also received her Masters of Public Health from University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2021. Her passions include her adorable son Barron, Instagram famous feline Mira, concerts, hiking, running, and traveling.
Dr. Selby Merrow, DVM

Sara Foote, Veterinary Technician
Sara has been with the clinic since the beginning of 2019. Sara started off as a Veterinary Assistant/ Kennel Technician. Soon after starting with us added groomer to her resume and is now one of our Veterinary Technicians. Sara has a great love for all animals but holds a special place in her heart for felines. Pet mom to her 4 cats; Jada, Jedi, Jemma, & Fitz. Also, her 2 dogs Zelda & Nymera. In her time away from the clinic she enjoys time with her family and beloved pets, gardening, hiking. Sara is looking to continue adding new and improved skills to her resume to further assist both patients and clients alike.

Katie Washburn, Vet Assistant
Originally from Asheville, North Carolina and having come from England, Katie now lives in Crestview with her husband Noah, and her two dogs and kitty. Katie joined our team as a Vet Assistant in 2022 and aspires to become a Vet Technician. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her loving husband, modifying her Jeep Wrangler, and going to church.
Ryan Flynn, Practice Manager
Ryan has become a great asset to the Cat Clinic of Destin since he joined the team in 2014. Ryan is continuing his education to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager. He’s received continuing education in communication, customer service, and practice management. Ryan lives in Niceville with his wife, Rachel, and 3 young sons, JJ, Kayden, and Owen; and a Shepard mix named Turtle.
Vicky Varnadore, CSR
Vicky started with us in 2022 as a customer service representative. Vicky was born in Jacksonville, FL. Vicky was raised on a farm where she learned to love all animals. Vicky lives at home with her two kitties, Rascal and Cupcake. Vicky enjoys camping, road trip, cooking and fishing.
